"We play music bc it's what we love to do. When playing music becomes all about making money and not having fun, then that's when it's time to put it down."

SR: What exactly do you do in the band?
Brandon: I play the bass in the band. I also handle most public affairs.
SR: What made TAR choose the genre of music played? And any influences from another band?
Brandon: We all just have a passion for hardcore music. Some of our biggest influences include, The Devil Wears Prada, A Day to Remember, Oceana (the old), etc...
SR: How did the band get the name, "The Aura Rising?" How did the band form up?
Brandon: Okay well we're all a bunch of nerds for one. The Aura Rising comes from an episode of Dragonball Z, (Who doesn't love Dragonball Z?). Where Goku goes super sayian for the first time. BOOM! The Aura Rising.
SR: What was the bands first gig, and how was the turn out afterwards?
Brandon: Our first ever show was at a place called, Zakk's Coffehouse in Murfreesboro, NC. (In the middle of no where) It was a what they call, "showcases" where a bunch of local bands from all over Eastern NC come play 3 to 5 songs. The turnout was okay I guess. Maybe about 20 people. I was super nervous, but we ended up playing with some cool bands. Two of them our now some of our best friends and we still play shows with them today. (Actions Louder Than Words and Within The fear)
SR: Whats in store that fans can look forward to from The Aura Rising? Warped Tour anytime soon?
Brandon: Well... We are currently going through a lineup change. We aren't kickin anybody out or anything. We're just switchin things up. We are going to go for a bit of a sound change and add more clean vocals to the mix. We actually have 3 days coming up in December, set for us to go record 2 to 3 new songs with Drew at Think Sound Studios. We might even have a few cover songs in the works.
SR: Whats some bands that you listen to?
Brandon: I listen to so many. Some of my favorite bands are Pierce The Veil, Blessthefall, In Fear & Faith, Sleeping With Sirens. Lately i've been listening to a lot of The Word Alive, and Tides of Man.
