| Yushin Okami |
The battle of this fight was well noticeable in the first round as Marquardt kept swinging trying to get that perfect hit. Frustrating as it seems to hit the Japanese middle weight fighter, it isn't impossible. But Saturday Okami made the struggle for Marquardt a tough cookie to bite.
Many labored punches were thrown at Okami which did not do much with the reflexes of the fighter. Marquardt only found himself in a bind when it came to the simple technique called, timing. This only made things harder and much more frustrating which Okami's style of fight usually gets fighters.
Not yet forgotten Marquardt does have speed and smarts. Later in the third Okami was taken down but not having the right arm is crucial at this moment, Okami hops right back up making a decision for the judges to be unpredictable.
Meeting at the middle of the octagon the judges ruled Yushin Okami the win by unanimous decision. Yushin Okami now is the holder of the 154 pound title and is now at the the UFC's top middle weight fighter.
The new title holder made the bold comment of a long time rival after the fight making it clear who he wants to take down next. " I want to fight Anderson for the championship, I want to become middleweight champion," Okami said. So Until February we will have to be anxious to see if the challenge will be in the octagon.
